MG Wing Zero Custom & MG Freedom

It's been quite some time since I posted any model kit pics. Finally found some time and effort to take some pics.

Good camera and lightings really help a lot to produce excellent pics. There are many painting errors made for both kits as usual but I think they are not obvious here.

The next kit will take a very long time to complete due to work, haiz...

Wow. Those Model Kits are awesome.

I'm getting a MG Wing Gundam Zero in the mail in about a week. I've never detailed a model before, just built them, but this MG I hope to detail.

Do you have any tips or pointers?

I know when I cut then off the frame tree I should probably sand down the points at which they were cut to get them smooth... What grit should I use?

I'm getting a 0.05 black pen in the mail as well for panel lines.

What about painting ideas, would spray cans work? I see you used lighter blues and red, I might use that idea :D

Sorry for all the questions... I just want the Model I got to look nice.

Hi Alex,

For sanding, use a grit 500 followed by a higher grit, say 1000 to really smoothen any scratches.

For painting, I'm using an airbrush, so I can have different shades of the same colour which makes the kit look nicer.

Spray cans are good to use too, if you want your kit to have vibrant colours. Before spraying any colours, make sure to spray a layer of primer first.

I would recommend using hobby spray cans to do all your spraying and not industrial spray cans.

For definitions of primers and such, please google for answers.

One last advice, building a kit and making it nice is a very time consuming job. Do not rush your work and please be patient, especially sanding down. You don't want to over-sand your part and make it look weird after assembly.

If you need anymore help, feel free to ask me again!

what exactly does primer do anyway?
